Safaricom Ethiopia switched on its network and services in Hawassa city yesterday; the company also expanded its services to Assela, Jigjiga, Sodo and Dilla cities over the past few weeks.
Safaricom Ethiopia and the Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC) signed an agreement today for the transfer of developed land inside the IPDC-ICT park through a sub-lease agreement.
Safaricom Ethiopia has today begun a large-scale customer pilot of its network in Dire Dawa City. This is part of the company’s phased city-by-city regional network roll-out and rigorous service tests building towards our national launch.

Safaricom Ethiopia has registered 1 million active customers on its network, marking a key milestone in operations as it establishes its network across Ethiopia.
