SAFARICOM ETHIOPIA VISITOR’S PACKAGE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Welcome to Safaricom.

These terms and conditions govern and provide information on Safaricom’s Visitor’s s Package (“Package”) and constitute an agreement between You (Customer) and Safaricom. By using the Package, you acknowledge that You have read, understood, and accepted the terms and conditions set out herein.

1. Definitions
   1. “Customer” or “You” means a duly registered Safaricom Customer.
   2. “Visitor’s Package” (“Package”) means a package extended to visitors arriving in Ethiopia, providing access to local SIM cards accompanied by inclusive plans that allow local and international calling, internet browsing, and SMS messaging services.
   3. “Safaricom” or “Safaricom Ethiopia” means Safaricom Telecommunications Ethiopia PLC.
2. Eligibility
   The Package is available for new and existing Safaricom customers who purchase the Package at the Safaricom Bole Airport shop in acceptable foreign currency namely USD or Euro.
3. Package Purchase Process
   1. You can only purchase the Package at the Safaricom Bole Airport shop, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
   2. You are required to register and obtain a Safaricom SIM card before purchasing the Package.
   3. Existing Safaricom customers can also purchase the Package and can only do so at the Safaricom store at Safaricom Bole Airport shop, using the acceptable foreign currencies
4. Package Usage
   1. The Package shall be as follows:

   2. Once purchased, You can use the Package for local calls, SMSs, and browsing services.
   3. Unused Packages will not be carried over and will expire at the end of the applicable Validity Period provided under 4.1.
   4. If You have any other packages in addition to the Package, the usage priority will be given to the package with the shortest validity period.
   5. The airtime resource allocated upon purchasing can be used to make international calls, send SMSs, and browse. However, you cannot use the airtime granted under this Package to the procure any additional packages.
   6. You can check your balance, recharge, and purchase additional packages by dialing the USSD codes *704#, *705#, and *777# respectively.
   7. Safaricom reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Package at any time with prior notice to You through Safaricom’s website at www.safaricom.et.
5. Package Limitations
   1. The Package is only available for use within Ethiopia and cannot be used for roaming outside of the country.
   2. The Package does not include any international roaming services. Any usage outside of Ethiopia will be subject to additional charges and rates as applicable.
   3. Safaricom does not guarantee the availability or quality of the network, voice, SMS, or data services in all areas of Ethiopia. Service may be limited or unavailable in certain locations.
6. Liability and Disclaimers
   1. Safaricom shall not be liable for any loss or damage caused by the Customer's use of the Package, including but not limited to, loss of data, interruption of services, or any consequential damages.
   2. Safaricom does not guarantee the security, confidentiality, or accuracy of any information transmitted over its network. Customers are responsible for taking necessary precautions to protect their personal information and data.
7. Severability
   1. If any provision of these terms and conditions is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
   2. The invalid or unenforceable provision shall be replaced with a valid and enforceable provision that closely reflects the intent of the original provision.
8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
   1. These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Ethiopia.
   2. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with these terms and conditions shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ethiopia.
9. Privacy
   1. Safaricom shall protect and keep your personal information and communication private and shall not disclose it to any unauthorized persons.
   2. Safaricom shall only process your information in accordance with the applicable law and its own data privacy policy and procedures.
   3. How Safaricom processes your personal information is detailed fully in the Safaricom Privacy Policy available on www.safaricom.et .
10. Extension of the Visitor’s Package Terms and Conditions
    1. These terms and conditions are supplemental to and subject to the published Safaricom Prepay General Terms and Conditions and Safaricom Ethiopia Prepay Voice Packages, Data Packages, and Short Message Service Packages Terms and Conditions.
    2. . All general provisions applicable to Prepay services under the Prepay Terms and Conditions shall apply to these Terms and Conditions.
    3. Safaricom reserves the right to amend or vary these Terms and Conditions or to withdraw the Package at any time. In any of these events, notice will be given via Safaricom’s website at www.safaricom.et or any other media and will be effective immediately or as at the date referred in such notifications.
